Ahloha! Island Family Magazine January 2009 review!

Preparing Pets for a New Baby!

Bringing a newborn home from the hospital is one of the biggest changes a family faces. Baby Sounds For Pets helps get the family pet ready for that change. Created as an aid to help get
ready for a new arrival of a baby, this innovative CD features several different baby sounds including crying, gurgling, cooing and even temper tantrums. Because pets react strongly to sounds, playing baby "noises" prior to bringing baby home gives pets a head start for adjusting to the big change. Baby Sounds For Pets helps relieve pet anxiety, encourages acceptance, resolves jealous behavior and restores family balance. Baby Sounds For Pets (19.95) is available at pet boutiques and Pet Smart.

Fred getting a treat!

Antonio giving his doggy a treat! Another great moment!

2 Pet Lovers!

Antonio and Me, 16 months after his birth. He is a pet lover!!!!

He feeds the kitties every morning and helps walk Fred, the Chihuahua. His life is more enriched because of the compassion he has learned loving his pets! We want the same for you too!

Expert Advice!

We realize that we have been very focused on the pet side of things and for 09' we are changing our vision to of course help the pets, by helping the mommy to be!

When I first found out I was pregnant and so excited! The next thing was my "safety monitor", inside of me went off and I wanted to find the safest car, car seat for the baby, and then I said,"Fred and Kitty!!!!"

I find that most new mommy's to be feel the same way. I am here to tell you that your beloved pets can go through this with you and stay in the family. Of course, there will be jealousy and they will notice something different about you. (Especially when they can't sit on your lap anymore).

The best thing you can do for yourself and your pets is to take care of yourself and prepare not only them but yourself as well.

1. Get Baby Sounds for Pets for your pet to prepare them with all the new sounds that will be in their home.

2. Include them when you are decorating the baby room. Excluding them will only make them want to be there more. Especially the cat! Cover the crib or whatever they might want to get into. I held my cat Pasha up to the crib and bassinet to look in and see for himself what these new beds were.

3. Get your stroller out there empty and walk your dog. For one it is great exercise and it gets them ready and not scared the first time you take them. I highly recommend a jog stroller, (craig's list) they are so much easier to control(especially with the dog with ya:) ).

4. Take a deep breath, I'm here to help you along the way. :)

5. I also recommend even now getting some rescue remedy for your pets water to help them be less anxious during this time too! After my son was born I got one for jealousy for Fred's water and it really helped him. PS. We will be selling those to soon.

6. Look for a good pet walker for after you have the baby, your," first babies", will still need their walks and this way they will get them and be so much happier. The stress of breast feeding, sleepless nights is enough new stuff to deal with. Do it for yourself and your dog.

This is a big change for all of you, whether you are a celebrity or a regular gal, you are going through the same experience and preparation is key.

Well, more to come soon! Happy New Year!
